An shaded area will be available for those less able to walk on uneven surfaces.

We wanted to share an important update regarding recent coyote sightings in our area. As we live in beautiful Southern California, occasional visits from local wildlife are a natural part of our environment. However, to ensure the safety of our pets and families, it is important that we all work together to make our neighborhood less attractive to coyotes.

Coyotes are naturally wary, but they become emboldened when they find easy sources of food, water, or shelter near homes. By taking a few proactive steps, we can significantly reduce the likelihood of them settling in or near our homes.

Tips to Keep Our Neighborhood Safe

Please take a moment to review these practices to help discourage coyote activity:

• Manage Potential Food Sources: Keep pet food indoors and never leave food of any kind outside at night. If you have fruit trees, be sure to promptly remove any fruit that has fallen to the ground.

• Secure Your Trash: Store trash in covered, heavy-duty containers and keep them in a secure area. Make sure that all trash bin doors are closed and the bins are not overloaded.

• Remove Hiding Spots: Keep your yards clear of potential shelters, such as thick brush, tall weeds, and wood or debris piles. Make sure that the crawl space under your home is secured.

• Protect Small Pets: Cats and dogs should not be allowed outside unattended and should be on a 6 foot leash when outside.

On Saturday, July 4th, our community will come alive from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM (with early bird action starting at 8:30 AM) for a historic day of patriotic pride, dazzling neighborhood creativity, and delicious food. Here is your complete guide to everything we have planned for this milestone celebration!

🚲 Roll Out the Fun: The Great Wheels & Hats Parade! (9:00 AM)

We are kick-starting the morning with our community-favorite parade starting at 9:00 AM! This year, we want to see your ultimate creative flair. We are inviting all residents to show off their patriotism by decorating:

• Bicycles (streamers, flags, and cards in the spokes!)

• Golf Carts (go all out with banners and balloons!)

• 4th of July Hats (the wilder, bigger, and more creative, the better!)

The parade will wind its way all around the park so that all our residents can view, cheer, and celebrate together from their front lawns. Registration starts at 8:30 AM sharp, so make sure to arrive early to secure your spot in the lineup!

A Moment of Honor: Flag Raising Ceremony (10:30 AM)

Following the high-energy parade, we will gather together for a beautiful and meaningful Flag Raising Ceremony at 10:30 AM. In honor of the USA’s 250th Years Celebration, this will be a wonderful opportunity to stand together as neighbors, reflect on our nation’s history, and celebrate the wonderful community spirit that makes Rancho Del Rey such a special place to call home.

🍔 Sizzle & Sweet: Lunch by Habit Burger & Grill! (11:00 AM)

All that celebrating is sure to work up a major appetite! We are absolutely thrilled to share that this year’s lunch is catered by none other than Habit Burger & Grill.

Starting at 11:00 AM, grab your appetite and dive into an incredible menu featuring premium charbroiled hamburgers, crispy fries, cold drinks, refreshing fruit, and a slice of delicious anniversary cake to wrap up the perfect meal!
